Looking into the rights of claim of both Virginia and the United States to the western territory by Thomas Paine, with some outlines of a plan for laying out a new State, to be applied as a fund, for carrying on the war, or redeeming national debt. Originally written in 1780. Thomas Paine was an English born American Founding Father, political activist and theorist, philosopher. Among his many important works are highly influential pamphlets 'Common Sense' (1776) and 'The American Crisis' (1776-1783), at the start of the American Revolution, and he played an important part on inspiring the Patriots to declare independence from Great Britain in 1776.  Unbound. Binding tender and split to p. 26 and 29, p. 27-8 loose but present. Pages generally very clean throughout. Good Only
