About This Item

Philadelphia: American Friends Service Committee, 1947. Pamphlet. Six-panel brochure, folded from a single sheet; three small black and white photos. Text almost entirely in Japanese. Not found in OCLC as of March 2024. An overview of aid to impoverished postwar Japan, noting that Japanese American donors had contributed $190,000 worth of assistance. Appears to have been published for outreach to a Japanese American audience. Includes a message from former Japanese ambassador Kensuke Horinouchi, who had been selected the first chairman of Licensed Agencies for Relief in Asia (LARA) in 1946.
