Hardcover with dust jacket, published by Viking, 1977. This is the 1977 Book Club edition. The dust jacket is intact and has been protected with a clear, removable cover, one closed tear to the top left at the gutter - about an inch long, one tiny chip at the top of that tear, a couple spots of staining to the lower portion of the spine. First in the Jemima Shore series, the investigative journalist looks into a murder in a convent in Sussex. The boards are flat and the corners are not bumped or creased. Edges of the text block are clean. The binding is tight and square. No former ownership marks, no writing on the text pages. This is not a remainder, not a library discard. Cover illustration by Mary French. Attached photo is of the copy we have in our inventory.
