London: Longmans, Green, and Co., 1905. First edition. Cloth. Very Good. 7" by 4.5". None. The scarce first edition of this collection of verse by Edith Nesbit. The first edition of this work. A scarce copy. Anthology of poems by Edith Nesbit, featuring numerous verses including 'The Things that Matter,' 'The Jilted Lover,' 'In Absence,' 'Silence,' To Iris,' and more. With four leaves of publisher's advertisements to rear.Edith Nesbit was a prolific English writer and poet known for her children's books, most notable 'The Story of the Treasure Seekers,' and 'Five Children and It.' In the original publisher's full cloth binding with decorative gilt to front board, gilt lettering to spine. Externally very smart with only light bumping to head and tail of spine. Library sheet tipped in to rear pastedown, no further library markings. Previous owner's gift inscriptions to front pastedown and free endpaper, undated, from 'mummy.' Internally, firmly bound. Odd light minor spotting to occasional leaf, pages otherwise generally bright and clean. Very Good

Where are We?
Based in the literary city of Bath, our offices are housed in the Eastern Dispensary. Built in 1845, the building originally existed as a charitable institution providing medical care. The building now houses our collection of over twenty thousand books and has five full time members of staff.
