Oates deals with the dark reality of everyday life through many characters of all walks of life. There are eighteen stories in total. Joyce Carolyn Oates has published over forty novels and numerous short story collections. She has won many awards such as the National Book Award. In a full cloth binding with gilt stamping to the spine, in original unclipped dustwrapper. Externally, excellent. Minor shelfwear to the boards. Dustwrapper is also excellent with minor shelfwear to the extremities. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are slightly age toned to edges but otherwise are bright and clean. Fine
