About This Item
United Artists. No binding. Just About Fine. [Hollywood]: United Artists, 1973. Vintage original 40 x 30" (100 x 75 cm.) poster. Unfolded, with one 1" (2.5 cm.) tear neatly mended with archival paper in lower right blank margin, generally just about fine. Various posters were made for this classic Robert Altman revisionist neo-noir film starring Elliott Gould as a very 1970s take on Philip Marlowe. This is actually one of four poster designs which United Artists tried out, until they eventually settled on a comic book-inspired design by Jack Davis. This far more striking image is extremely scarce, particularly in this format, which unlike the normal theatrical one sheet (which measures 41 x 27") is on much more expensive, heavier paper.
