Illustrated with frontispiece and three plates, all with tissue guards printed in red. Volume 1 only (3 more volumes appeared, the last in 1935). This volume is probably the most useful as it contains Kingsbury's valuable 115 page history and extensive 89 page bibliography of "all documents, letters, publications, or other records of the Virginia Company or relating to the company between 1616 and 1625… and also those previous to 1616 which are not published or cited by Alexander Brown in THE GENESIS OF THE UNITED STATES." The remaining 431 pages reproduce, for the first time, the Court Book manuscripts from 1619 to 1622. Preface by Herbert Levi Osgood. Bound in the original greenish-grey cloth, stamped in bright gold on the spine and front cover. The article on the Virginia Company in THE DICTIONARY OF AMERICAN HISTORY cites this work as its authority. HARVARD GUIDE 86 & 633. Oversize Hardcover. 9.25" wide by 11.5" tall by 2.25" thick. This large heavy book will require extra postage for Priority and International shipments, but only the standard charge for media mail.. First Edition. Oversize Hardcover. Very Good condition. Illus. by NOT a library discard. 635pp. Great Packaging, Fast Shipping.

About About Books

About Books (Genny and Michael Winne, proprietors, formerly of Parsippany, New Jersey) has been selling rare and OP books since 1985. Besides book fairs and mail-order catalogues, long-time collectors and dealers will remember our lengthy For Sale ads in the Antiquarian Bookman and similar magazines. Our inventory of over 40,000 volumes is especially strong in the specialties listed, but contains fine books in a variety of other fields as well. Because most of our books are stored in protective boxes, rather than on shelves, they cannot be viewed as a whole. If you wish to visit us to examine specific titles, please provide 24 hours notice and we will make them available for your inspection. Phone calls to (702) 750-2722 are welcome, but please, only between the hours of 8am and 10pm (west coast time).
