London: Whittaker, Treacher & Co., 1832. Her first novel, following in the footsteps of her "Domestic Manners of the Americans". The three volumes finely bound as one ( and SCARCE THUS) in 19th century full green morocco, red leather label, title in gilt, back stamped with ornate decorations between 4 raised bands lined in gilt, gilt ruled sides, marbled end pages. Small label of "The White House" with call numbers rear paste down, perhaps making this a copy that was once in the White House library. Near Fine, a few light rubs to morocco, toning to end pages, prior owner name front end page. . First Edition. Very Good Plus/No Jacket, As Issued. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
