Inside clean and tidy, with some light foxing throughout. Binding is sound with no shaking or loose plates. Mounted on Manilla paper, 40 full-page colour pictures. Presumably a children's book including a pictorial alphabet of Christian characters from Rebekah to Noah, and Moses to Zacharias; plus many full-page colour illustrations. The boards are only slightly rubbed and inside the book is in a very good condition. 42 pages. 290 x 225 mm (11½ x 8¾ inches).

Bruxelles: : Imprimerie de Fain, 1816. Recent brown cloth with gilt titles. IVme Volume for 1816 - 24 issues. The complete second half of the year, including the scarce Tricolour issue, which was published in blue, white and red. Binding and end papers are spotless. The newspaper is clean and tidy, with a few pages uncut. Slightly darkened and some minor edge wear, but overall an excellent example. Le Nain Jaune was a pro-Bonaparte political newspaper, openly displayed on Napoleon's return. At the second return of the Bourbons, the newspaper was suppressed. In 1816 Cauchois-Lemaire had fled to Belgium and the newspaper was published from there. In November 1816 it was merged with the Mercury Surveillant to become Le Liberal [ii]. 266 [ii] pp. 230 x 150 mm (9 x 6 inches). . Toile brune récente avec titres dorés. Contains 11 pen and ink / watercolour drawings, by a skilled artist. Most of the images are architectural or of nature. Generally to the edge of the page. All drawn to one side only. One of the leaves has become detached but is still present. A few marks to the paper covers, but internally spotless. There are also two additional sketches, one charcoal on paper, the other ink on very thin wood. Un bel album aquarelle / plume et encre. Sans date mais vers 1910.
