Boston: The Association of Breeders of Thoroughbred Holstein Cattle, 1872. First Edition . Cloth - Hard Cover. Good/No Jacket. 71 pages, plus six lithographic plates. Blank end leaves are darkened. Scattered, mostly light, foxing. Water stain along the outside edge of last 15 leaves, not affecting text or images, and not sticking. Covers show a few light scuffs and smudges, though overall volume remain tight and fairly clean. Acceptable copy of this scarce first work on the Holstein breed in the U.S. Contents cover early history of the breed and its introduction to the U.S. Details included on all 61 bulls and 67 cows in the U.S. at the time of compilation, most of these having been imported from North Holland.

Brown embossed boards,gilt spine lettering, 2 separate titles bound in one volume. Corners worn, light spotting to covers, some insecting and chipping to hinges, but hinges are holding tightly and binding is sound, contents are variably foxed. The publication date of "Productive Farming" is 1843.
