MAP OF THE UPPER COLUMBIA RIVER, FROM THE INTERNATIONAL BOUNDARY LINE TO SNAKE RIVER, on a scale of one inch to two miles, over 25 separate sheets and an index sheet, compiled from Surveys and Examinations Made in 1881. and diagrams, including a lovely depiction of the Grand Coule by Lieutenant Symons Topographical Assistant, Alfred Downing. One lovely drawing by Downing shows an engineer taking notes, holding the reins of his saddled horse, who waits behind.
Contains foldout MAP OF THE UPPER COLUMBIA RIVER, FROM THE INTERNATIONAL BOUNDARY LINE TO SNAKE RIVER, on a scale of one inch to two miles. 25 Sheets and an Index Sheet. From Surveys and Examinations made in 1881 by Lieut. Thomas W. Symons, Corps of Engineers, and Alfred Downing, Topographical Assistant, U.S. Army Final map folds out and includes Chief Moses and Colville Indian Reservations. Lieut. Symons (Corps of Engineers, U.S. Army) was the Chief Engineer of the Department of The Columbia.
