Reports of Cases Argued and Adjudged in the Court of King's Bench, In the Eleventh and Twelfth Years of the Reign of King George the Second. [London]: Printed by Henry Lintot, 1754. [x], 397, [37] pp. Lacking initial advertisement leaf. Folio (12-1/4" x 7-3/4"). Contemporary calf, blind rules to boards, blind fillets along joints, raised bands and lettering piece to spine. Some rubbing and scuffing to joints and extremities, boards beginning to detach, but secured by cords, spine ends and corners worn, small library stamps to front pastedown and free endpaper, faint part-erased library name to head of title page. Moderate toning to text, occasional foxing, light soiling to margins of a few leaves. $500. * First edition. Covering the years 1738-1740, this set of reports was, to quote Wallace, "very much esteemed by the profession in general." Marvin notes that "Andrews has usually given a fuller and more satisfactory report of these cases than is found in reports of the same period." Later editions were published in 1791 and 1792.
