True first edition, first printing, not bc issue which is often mistaken for first, no blindstamp on rear board. Tight straight copy, free of former owner writing or bookplates. Contents are fine, just about 3/4" nicks to upper mid edge of rear board and usual fade to gilt lettering on spine along with minor shelfwear. Lacks DJ. An unused 22cent US stamp featuring Faulkner smoking his pipe has been laid in the book. .
Synopsis
Requiem for a Nun is a book written by William Faulkner in 1951. Like many of Faulkner's works, Requiem experiments with narrative technique—the book is part novel, part play. The protagonist is Temple Drake, a character introduced as a college student in Sanctuary, one of Faulkner's early novels. In Requiem Temple, now married with a child, must learn to deal with her violent, turbulent past as related in Sanctuary.
