The first edition, first printing of Nevil Shute's wartime novel in the original dust wrapper. First edition, first impression of Requiem for a Wren by Nevil Shute, in the original publisher's binding and dust wrapper.The novel is set in the late 1940s England, where a man finds his late brother's wife in unfortunate circumstances. In his personal quest to join up the dots, this novel also tells the lives and stories of 'Wrens', those who served in the Women's Royal Navy Service in the Second World War.Nevil Shute was an English novelist and aeronautical engineer. He didn't use his full name in his work in the hopes of disguise from fellow engineers. In original publisher's cloth binding and unclipped dust wrapper. The dust wrapper is slightly worn to the extremities. There is some very minor bumping to the head and tail of the spine. Internally, firmly bound. The pages are bright and clean. Near Fine
