London: T. Kelly, 1832. Leather. Good. 8.5" by 5.5". Not Stated. A scarce new edition of this guide to the Christian commandments, sacraments, and prayers. New edition. Scarce work. Illustrated with six plates, lacking frontispiece. A manual collected from the Christian Holy scriptures, councils and fathers, to provide instructions for the individual believer in following the Lord's commandments, creed, sacraments, and prayer. With a table of the fixed festivals, a table of the feasts to be observed, plenary indulgences, and a prayer for the King. Revised and corrected by Reverend Dr. Thomas Penswick, an English bishop who served as the Vicar Apostolic of the Northern District from 1831 to 1836. Bound in full straight grained morocco. Externally, sound with rubbing and light bumping to the extremities. Marks to the boards. Internally, generally firmly bound with endpapers loosening. Pages are bright with light scattered spotting and the odd small closed tear to the extremities. Stickers to the front pastedown with sticker residue to the rear pastedown and marks to the endpapers. Contemporary ink inscription to the front pastedown and endpapers. Good
