About This Item
Modern Library. Baloon cloth. Good/No Jacket. There is a confusing inscription on the half title page signed Dmitri Merejkowski but we do not think it is authentic. The inscription reads: "Presented to my dear friend George Ranne (sp?) Kennedy without whose aid it could never have been translated from the original Russian. Sincerely Dmitri Merejkowski." In our opinion there are two possible explanations of this inscription. First, it may have been written in English by someone for Merejkowski. Second, it could be a fraud.Toledano 4 binding but not a Modern Library first. Significant moisture damage on the covers and spine. Cracked hinge at the title page. Binding tight.Full refund if not satisfied.
