About This Item

London: Chapman & Hall, 1891. First edition. Cloth. Good. 7.5" by 5". Not Stated. A smart first edition of this scarce lost city novel, with illustrations throughout. First edition. Scarce work. Illustrated with ten plates. Collated complete. Set in Zimbabwe, a group of explorers travel by balloon and discover the last descendants of Solomon and the Queen of Sheba. Written by Andrew A. Anderson and Andrew Henry Wall, British authors on a multitude of fictional and non-fiction subjects. In the original blue cloth binding. Externally, smart with light rubbing and minor bumping to the extremities. Fading to the spine and the board edges. The odd small mark to the boards. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright with the odd spot or handling mark. Light spotting to the first and last few pages with a contemporary ink inscription to the front endpaper. Good
