The French Classical Romances Series; Editor-in-Chief Edmund Gosse. Introduction by Henry Harland. Portrait of the author and intro to his work included. Frontis and Other Portraits with Descriptive Notes by Octave Uzanne. Frontis tissue protected. Black cloth binding with blind stamped double border on front, two gilt outlined panels on spine with gilt lettering within-quite bright and clear. Fleur de lys in black to spine. Quite clean with light wear to corners and spine head and heel, with rubbed hinge. Solid and tight sewn binding. Lime-green decorated title page. Former owner name on endpaper. Pages clean and unmarked, no tears, very slight toning. Octave Feuillet, 1821-1890, was a French novelist and dramatist, who published this sensitive, romantic novel in1858; it was one of his more popular novels. 256 pages. 8.25 x 5.75 inches. 1902, P.F.Collier & Son, New YorkNew York, USA
