Taking into account the artistic work and value of the numerous engravers, sculptors, carvers, and artists who have contributed to its design during the course of British history. The first edition of this work. Written by Charles Hasler, an accomplished typographer and book-designer. Illustrated with numerous in-text illustrations, divided into Pre-Norman, Norman, Plantagenet, Interregnum, Tudor, Stuart, Hanover, Saxe-Coburg, and Windsor designs. Enclosed in the original dust wrapper. In the publisher's original cloth binding. Externally, lovely, with just a touch of fading at the top of the spine. Original unclipped dust wrapper is lovely, with some light edgewear and shelf wear to the front of the wrap. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean. Fine
