The very scarce first edition of this work.A lovely topographical study into Forfar, a royal burgh in Angus, Scotland. The area dates back to a temporary Roman occupation, and was occupied by the English forces during the Scottish War of Independence before being presented to Robert the Bruce.Typically Forfar is both a market town and a major manufacturing centre for linen and jute.Illustrated with a frontispiece, and in-text illustrations throughout.By Alan Reid.Bookplate of Colin Currie to the front paste down.One page of adverts to the rear. In the original publisher's cloth binding. Externally, smart. Light marks and a little rubbing to the boards and spine. Minor bumping to the spine and extremities. Spine is a little discoloured. Hinges are starting but firm. Bookplate to the front paste down. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean with a few odd spots and handling marks. Very Good
