About This Item
This is a pristine copy of Rumpole, a collection of 10 stories chosen by their author, the British barrister John Mortimer (1923-2009). Most people are familiar with the hugely popular series Rumpole of the Bailey, which ran on the BBC from 1975 to 1980 and in which Rumpole was so brilliantly portrayed by Leo McKern.
Horace Rumpole is the loveable aging English lawyer, contentedly married to the ambitious-and-disappointed She Who Must Be Obeyed. His firm is constantly trying to get him to retire, as he picks up cases from the seediest people, usually having them acquitted by figuring out who really committed the crime.
This is a copy of the Folio Society edition, published in 1994.
362 pages, heavily illustrated with by the British artist Paul Cox. In a slipcase/box.
This book does not appear to have been read. There is not a mark in it or on it.
