About the author

Fatima Bhutto was born in Kabul. She is the author of a book of poetry, three works of non-fiction, including her bestselling memoir Songs of Blood and Sword, and two immensely acclaimed novels: The Shadow of the Crescent Moon, which was longlisted for the Women's Prize for Fiction, and more recently, The Runaways.

Fatima Bhutto was born in Kabul, Afghanistan, in 1982. She grew up in Syria and Pakistan. She is the author of four previous books, most recently the highly acclaimed The Shadow of the Crescent Moon which was longlisted in 2014 for the Bailey's Women's Prize for Fiction.
