Hardcover Book and Dust Jacket as New. 465 pages; b/w illustrations, many of the drawings the author made on his Russian journey; small 12mo book in blue cloth with silver titles to spine. Two eccentric classics from Russia and Nepal by a strange Victorian, Laurence Oliphant (1829-1888), South-African born British author, traveller, diplomat, Christian mystic and Christian zionist. Oliphant went to Nepal at the invitation of the Prime Minister in 1850 and wrote "The Journey to Katmandu" about his time and experiences there.
