New York: Dodd Mead, 1959. In his first appearance, Father Joseph Bredder investigates when he finds the severed head of an unknown woman in the church. Spine head damaged with a 1" chip and wear wrapping around onto the boards. Binding square and solid, previous owner's name on the front end paper, dated 1961. Jacket rubbed with chips and tears, spine sunned with a 2" by 3" chip at the head, wrapping around to the front and rear. Foxed, price intact, in Brodart.. First Edition. Hard Cover. Fair/Fair.
