Jacob's humorous novel set in the English seaport village Salthaven, illustrated throughout by Will Owen. The first edition of this work. This work is a lively novel set in a little seaport village in England, following the life of the people who live in Salthaven, looking at shipbuilding, love, adventure, and fun. Illustrated with a frontispiece and eleven plates. Written by William Wymark Jacobs. Jacobs is best known for his horror story 'The Monkey's Paw', though the majority of his works are humorous. Illustrated by Will Owen. With forty pages of publisher's adverts to the rear. With a bookplate and prior owner's ink inscription to the front pastedown, both from an Alex Bridge. Collated, complete. In the original publisher's cloth binding. Externally, smart. Light bumping to the head and tail of the spine. The odd spot to the fore edge. Bookplate and prior owner's ink inscription to the front pastedown. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean with only the occasional spot due to the spots to the fore edge. Very Good Indeed
