About This Item

223-260 pages with maps, charts, tables, figures, graphs and cited references. Quarto (11" x 8 1/4") bound in original publisher's wrappers. Current Anthropology Volume 36, Volume 2 complete issue. First edition. Modern East African savannas serve as the primary model for the paleoenvironments of early hominids. However, throughout the Neogene there have been cooling and during trends through time and fluctuations in seasonality. As a result, many modern East African savannas are drier, with more severe dry seasons, than during some periods in Plio/Pleistocene in which early hominids lived. Our understanding of these moister and less seasonal periods is crucial for reconstructing early hominid lifeways. Condition: Edge wear, corners bumped, rubbed and creased else very good.
