BE5 - A tight, clean, sound copiy with minor overall shelf wearplus the endflaps of the dust jacket are glued down to the inside surfaces of the boards plus the second owner's name in ink on the front endpaper plus the usual library stamps on the top and bottom outside paper edges, front and back endpapers and title page plus some surface damage on the back endpaper (about 0.75"x2.5") from removing a label. The dust jacket shows nor visible signs of wear and is in the original library mylar sleeve. A story told by an old man in a remote wilderness cabin and an event that happened to him more than 50 years earlier. In 1845 a runaway from a secret utopian community called 'Home' appears at his family's homestead. Soon a battle ensues when a ruthless group of the community's 'Guards' arrives to take the refugee back. They are driven off but the battle leaves the storyteller's wife mortally wounded. He makes the journey to 'Home' and wreaks a terrible revenge on it with its macabre customs, barbarism, and religious fanaticism. 200p.. First Edition. Hard Cover.
