In half blue calf, blue cloth, corners and edges lightly bumped and worn. Spines, raised bands, decorative gilt tooling, gilt titles, edges a little worn. Internally, blue marbled endpapers, no inscriptions, t.e.g,. Vol 1, B&W frontis, [5], (vi-xi), [1], [1], 2-475 pp, [1], [22] index, 3 pls (1 dated 1807), text watermarked 1806. Vol 2, tissue guarded frontis, 555 pp, 3 pls (1806 & 13), printed by T Bensley, Bolt Court, Fleet St, London, watermarked 1806, first edition was published in 1804. (216*137 mm). (Lowndes 11457. Brunet 1343/3. Anderson 340 for 1st). Title continues: From materials collected during two excursions in the year 1803. Malkin, schoolmaster and his taste for the picturesque is to be seen in his topographical work The Scenery, Antiquities and Biography of South Wales, published in 1804 and reissued in a two-volume edition in 1807. Written after a tour of south Wales in 1803, it was one of the best travel books of its kind, displaying Malkin's acute observation and considerable knowledge of Welsh history. CANCELLATIONS & REFUNDS You may request to cancel a book order or return a book within 14 days of receipt of the book. A book may be returned for one of the following reasons: Item damaged: The item was damaged during shipping. Item not as described: The condition of the book does not match the description on Madoc Books. Incorrect item delivered: The title, cover or edition of the book is different than the title on the order. Item not received: The estimated delivery date has passed and the book has still not arrived. To cancel a book order or return a book simply contact Madoc with your order confirmation details and to obtain the return address.

DELIVERY DETAILS We ship all of our orders via Royal Mail. Orders are usually shipped within 2 or 3 business days. Shipping costs are based on books weighing 2.2 LB, or 1 KG. If your book order is heavy or oversized or a multiple in books we will contact you to let you know that extra shipping is required. Insurance costs are usually dictated by the shippers, should they be higher than normal, then we will contact you for your acceptance.
