A comprehensive bibliographical catalogue of artwork exploring the scenery of Great Britain and Ireland, from the library of J. R. Abbey. With images of different cities and boroughs, including: Bath, Cornwall, Lake District, Glastonbury, Kent, Oxford, Ramsgate, Birmingham, Dover, London, Liverpool, Isles of Wight, Cork, Dublin, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Swansea, Milford Haven, Jersey, and more.This is the 1991 reprint with a new frontispiece and with the collotype plates in photolithography.Major John Roland Abbey (1894-1969) was an English book collector who wrote several books, including this one and Life in England in Aquatint and Lithography, 1770-1860. In the publisher's original cloth binding, with the original unclipped dust wrapper. Externally, cloth is in excellent condition. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean. Dust wrapper is very bright and smart, with just one small tear to the head of the spine of the wraps, and a couple of faint marks. Fine
