About This Item
London: William Pickering, 1830. Leather. Near Fine. 8" by 5". None. A very scarce set of poems by James Thomson, in very attractive leather binding. The sought-after Pickering edition printed on large paper, the work is embellished with a decorative border to each page, as well as a frontispiece portrait of the author and a memoir of his, making for a very handsome volume of his work. Contains the bookbinders' stamp of T. Aitken. In calf binding with gilt detailing. Externally smart, there is minor wear to the extremities and joints, light markings to boards and strain to hinges. Internally, the pages are firmly bound and are bright and clean throughout, aside from some spotting to the endpages. Near Fine
