Hartford: American Publishing Co., 1866. Hardcover. Good. Book is rebound in blue cloth covered boards, with gilt title on spine and new endpapers. Old orange flyleaf is present front and back. Frontis portrait of author with tissue guard. Stain at bottom 1/4 of frontis page. Title page has some narrow chips at foredge. A little foxing on first page of text from the portraits on the previous page. The rest of the book is very good, clean and unmarked. The fascinating account of a northern journalist who traveled and was imprisoned in the south during 1861-1865. 512 pages.
