Introduction by author, notes, acknowledgements and index. Bottle green coloured end pages. Between pages 140 and 150 there are 8 pages of black and white photographs, at the beginning of the text there is a map of Vietnam's and the occasional map throughout the text. 1/4 black coloured backstrip with gilt coloured titles. 3/4 dark cream-coloured boards. Photographic dustwrapper with white, black, green and gold coloured titles to the front panel and black and white coloured titles to the backstrip. Black and white photograph of the author to the rear fold over panel. From 1964 to 1972, under various US presidents, the United States had a long-term, extremely secret and active campaign of covert activities against North Vietnam. The history of these campaigns. Minor rubbing of the backstrip edges, top corners and lower edges. A hint of age toning of the text block edges and pages. A little creasing of the top right hand corner of the front panel and there is a very small split also present.
