President Harry Williams needs a permanent solution to the cocaine problem and it is proposed by scientist and first female Prime Minister of Australia, Dr Janice Holloway. Three years later the horrific death of a US Senator is broadcast live while delivering a speech at the White House celebrating the eradication of cocaine. Fearing the Senator's death may be caused by a biological weapon, the President quarantines the White House. Stunned by a secret FBI report, Williams warns the world of an emerging pandemic and publicly names a powerful Mexican drug cartel, as the terrorist organisation responsible. Facing financial ruin the cartel prepares to launch a terrifying assault on the United States. About the author

Ross Cossins is the nom-de-plume of a scientist who was born in Christchurch New Zealand and resides in Brisbane Australia with his wife and four adult children. He is a medical microbiologist and virologist, with BSc and MSc degrees from the University of Otago and a PhD from the University of Newcastle. He began his career as a researcher in New Zealand before becoming a medical scientist in public hospitals in New South Wales, Australia, rising to the position of Scientific Director of Virology at a major teaching hospital based pathology service. In 1996 he joined a biotechnology company in Brisbane focused on the development of infectious disease diagnostic products, becoming Vice President for New Technologies and R&D. In 2003 he co-founded and became CEO of a new biotechnology company which developed technologies and products used to diagnose infectious diseases by analysis of the DNA or RNA of bacteria and viruses. Currently he is co-founder and CEO of an agricultural biotechnology company in Brisbane.
