A collection of sermons written by Reverend John Venn, a priest of the Church of England who was a central figure in the Clapham Sect, a group of religious philanthropists. Volume one contains sermons on the importance and difficulties of the Christian ministry, on preaching the gospel, on good works, and many more. Volume two contains sermons on the instability of religion, reasons why men do not come to Christ, the work of Christ, and many more. Volume three contains sermons on the justice of God, the atonement, the motives to Christian obedience, and many more. Bound in full calf with marbled endpapers. Externally, very smart with light shelf wear and minor bumping to the extremities. Minor rubbing to the spine and the odd spot to the boards. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean with the odd spot. Very Good Indeed
