About This Item
London: William Heinemann, 1943. First Edition . Hardcover. Fair/No Jacket. 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall. The print on the spine has faded; the hinges, front and back, are cracked and exposed, though the binding remains very good; there's an ownership inscription on the front end paper and an address writ large on the back end one. This was written with such ferocity, it has marked the last page. "55" as well as the back paste down, which also has a crease towards the tail. PP 28 - 29 have a small round stain, which I suspect was once an insect; pp36-37, have a short crease along the outer edge, and page 37 a closed tear. A good used copy, not for the collector, but very acceptable for a reader.
