Description:
London: Hollis & Carter, 1955. An account of an expedition into the Nepal Himalaya in search of the fabled yeti. Sponsored by the London Daily Mail, the trek took place in 1953/54 over a period of five months, in and around the lower slopes of Everest. While no concrete proof of the existence of the yeti was recovered, many indirect pieces of evidence nevertheless convinced the party of the existence of the illusive snowman. Aside from the quest itself, the book reveals much fascinating detail about the lives of the legendary sherpas who live among the mountains. xii, 209 pp., 1 col. and 36 b&w photos.. First Edition.
