London: Printed for John Sharpe, 1818. Later printing. Leather bound. 167pp. Sextodecimo [16 cm] Full brown leather with raised bands, two black leather spine labels, and decorative tooling in gilt and blind on the spine and covers. Marbled endpapers. Gilt turn ins. Discreet restoration work to the joints and edges of the boards. Hinges reinforced. The book has moderate rubbing to the extremities, a crack in the text block at the beginning, and a 2" closed tear in the bottom margin of the first page of Critical Observations. A maritime poem first published in 1762.
