An interesting 18th century Edo woodblock-print of 'Ryūeihikan' written by Yamon Kikuchi during the Kyoho period. This book is an original description of the year-round rituals of the Edo Shogunate including the style of the palace, events, ancient traditions, laws and regulations of the samurai, origins of the Mitsuha Aoi crest, and much more. This book was used as a reference work by the shogunate and was not distributed to the public, as such, the original manuscript is rarely found outside of government and museum collections.

This rare undated edition is written in the typical column handwritten format with excellent color illustrations throughout!
