NOT price clipped ($8.95). The jacket has a few small chips and short closed edge tears that have been reinforced with clear tape on the blank side. Sharp corners. Pages are crisp, clean and unmarked. Illustrated with a map, several aviation drawings and scale drawings of planes/soaring (i.e. the Alcor, Cesna Skylane, F-4 Phantom II). The author's first novel. Concerns a Marine fighter pilot who saw his best friend die on the last day of the Viet Nam war. The incident shattered his military career. He feels obligated to return to Seattle to explain things to his friend's father and daughter before trying to put together his civilial life -- finishing construction and flying the Alcor, a sailplane designed to break world records in distance and altitude. Besides book fairs and mail-order catalogues, long-time collectors and dealers will remember our lengthy For Sale ads in the Antiquarian Bookman and similar magazines.
