About This Item
Toronto: Harlequin 64, 1950. Book. Good. Paperback. 1st Harlequin edition.. 16mo - over 5¾ - 6¾" tall. First published in hardcover in 1942 under the title "The X-Ray Murders'. Introduces Wood Jaxon, a detective "with an undeniable appetite for food, drink, big fees, action and good looking women" (it's astounding how few detectives are looking for repulsive-looking women, or, for that matter, how few women are looking for repulsive-looking detectives). 128 pages. Strongly cocked, a couple of partial spine splits (meaning that while nothing is loose or detached, it very well might be if you don't read this with care -- unless it's going straight into the currently empty slot marked "Reserved for Harlequin #64), a fair bit of handling wear, the usual Harlequin tanning. Uncommon in any condition..
