An early, undated edition of Baroness Orczy's Sir Percy Hits Back, featuring her character Scarlet Pimpernel. Baroness Orczy was a Hungarian-born British novelist and playwright who is best known for her series of novels featuring the Scarlet Pimpernel, who is the alter-ego of a wealthy English man who turns into a quick-thinking escape artist during the time of the French Resolution. Sire Percy Hits Back is the ninth book in the Scarlet Pimpernel series, first published in 1927. This copy has been dated from Jisc and is dated c1927. In the publisher's original cloth binding. Externally, smart with some marks to the boards and spine. Internally, firmly bound with bright and clean pages. Very Good
Synopsis
First published in 1927, Sir Percy Hits Back is (chronologically) the ninth book in the Scarlet Pimpernel series by Baroness Orczy. A French language version, translated and adapted by Charlotte and Marie-Louise Desroyses, was also produced under the title La Vengeance du Mouron Rouge.
