The covers are lightly edgeworn, a 1-inch closed tear to the top of the spine, residue from price stickers on the top corner, glue residue in the center of the front cover where there may have been a paste-down, small diagonal creases to the bottom corner of the cover and first few pages. "On August 16, in the year 1892, the population of Halifax, Nova Scotia, was increased by one, the one being Harold R. Foster. Little did the people realize that the world had given a home to a future artistic genius... In 1906, the Foster family moved to Winnipeg, and young Hal took to the woods and streams to become an expert woodsman...In 1921, during the zenith of the GOLDEN AGE of ILLUSTRATION, Hal put his faith in his ability with brush and pen.
