About This Item
London: George Routledge and Sons Limited, 1891. Reprint. Cloth. Very Good. Three matching green cloth covered octavos with gilt decorations and spine lettering and with black ink lettering to the front panels. A "new" edition published in 1891. These volumes reproduce all of the 632 issues of The Spectator, a British daily newspaper which ran from 1711 to 1712. All three volumes are in pleasant very good condition with some miscellaneous light cover wear and some rubbing to spine toips. Internally clean. A handsome set. The Spectator described British customs and mores of the day and was well read both in the UK and abroad. 687, 731 and 732 pages, respectively. Includes introduction and notes by Henry Morley.
