The contents pages shows each sermon, detailed with the theme of the sermon, the bible passage they are referring to, and a short synopsis for easy browsing for the reader. This was the author's major work. Written by Joseph Ignatz Claus, a Catholic priest. He was known for his sermon literatures in German and Latin. He was ordained in Augsburg in 1717. Juli 1775) war Lizenziat der Theologie, katholischer Pfarrer zu Hirschbach in Schwaben, zu Oberndorf, Kaufbeuren und schließlich zu Biberbach, Kanonikus im Kollegiatstift St. Gertrud in Augsburg und später fürstbischöflich-augsburgischer Kirchenrat sowie Dechant des Ruralkapitels zu Westendorf. Joseph Ignatz Claus ist v.a. als Autor von Predigtliteratur in deutscher und lateinischer Sprache bekannt. Sein Hauptwerk, das Spicilegium Concionatorium wurde 1741 auch in Venedig verlegt'.
