First Edition. 118 pages, "With 3 portraits and 80 pages of plates," blue cloth, hardcover binding, good condition (slight fading to spine, and edges of covers, not affecting contents), sharp black and white photographs printed on coated stock.

A biographical sketch, and sample of the famous photographer's Alpine work; including sections on the Caucasus, Mount St. Elias, Ruwenzori, Himalaya and Karakoram.
