New York: Published by the author, 1902. First edition. Octavo (9.25" x 6.5"), 501 & [1] pages. Original gilt-lettered green cloth, in unprinted, plain white dust jacket (as issued ?).

Binding slightly spotted, brief foxing & offsetting at pastedowns, endpapers & edges of the text block, otherwise very good or better in worn, soiled, torn, & chipped dust jacket.

Author Crimmins was a partner in the Thomas Crimmins Contracting Company, a major New York City construction company which was founded by his father. A prominent philanthropist, he was a tireless supporter of Irish-American causes & the Catholic Church. This title includes 119 pages of biographical "sketches of 550 people," largely Irish Americans.
