Hamilton was a British Amy general who had an extensive British Imperial military career in the Victorian and Edwardian eras.The Russo-Japanese War was fought during 1904-1905 over rival imperial ambitions in Manchuria and the Korean Empire. During this war Hamilton was the military expert of the British Indian Army serving with the Japanese army in Manchuria. With sixteen illustrations and a frontispiece.With seven folding maps and eight maps and sketches. Collated, complete. In the publisher's original cloth binding. Externally, generally smart with some fading and bumping to the spine and a few marks to the boards. There is a bookseller sticker to the front free endpaper. There is an inscription to the half title page to J. K. Hamilton from H.D.D Christmas 1906. Internally, firmly bound with bright and clean pages. Good
