Victor Gollancz, 1935. Hardcover. Acceptable. 1935. First Edition. 701 pages. No dust jacket. Signed by the author. Black cloth with gilt lettering. Flat signed by author to title page. Pages have light tanning and foxing throughout. Heavier to first and last few pages. Previous owner's inscriptions to front free endpaper. Sticker to front pastedown. Stains to top edge of pages 650-651. Text is unaffected. Binding throughout remains firm. Boards have moderate shelf-wear with bumping to corners and rubbing to surfaces. Moderate tanning to spine and edges with some crushing to spine ends. Small splits to joints with fraying to spine ends. Gilt lettering is darkened. Noticeable white marks and scratches with some water drops to rear. Book has a slight forward lean.
