About This Item

MP3 Audio CD. A detective and historical themed novel full of surprises and tastefully exciting to dip into. This succession story by Louis Ulbach, an impressive talented French author who also wrote several engaging French pieces.

The story revolves around three persons who received a large sum of money and possession as inheritance. These three people are the fine man, who would have had a part of a share of the wealth if only his uncle had not died before revising the testament, the cousin of the fine man, who inherits all of the inheritance but never enjoyed his wealth, and the gambler, who is in dire need of a big amount of money. One of the three turned out to be ill-fated.

Their uncle believing that his completed will has been deceivingly altered, changed it and wrote another will giving all his possessions, real and personal and a large amount of money in the bank to his sole heir, the cousin of the fine man. He glim in delight when he learned about this.

There happened an unfortunate event, one was murdered and the suspected murderer is believed to be innocent. There was no proof beyond reasonable doubt of accusing such suspect. It is narrated that the victim was drunk which made him easy to go with his killer. That another person might have killed his cousin. The Steel Hammer reveals incidents after incidents and in the end, the case was solved after a grueling series of trials, and the culprit has been caught.

The morale of the story is a person who has riches must not be selfish nor greedy. For what a man owns will not be his forever. He cannot take all what he owns into the other world when he is gone. A man must learn how to make the most out of his life and learn how to be good to others.
