First edition, second printing with the year 1932 in roman numerals on the title page, but lacking the first edition statement on the copyright page. Published by Doubleday, Doran & Company, New York, 1932. Small octavo [5.5" x 8"], 571 pp. With its rare original dust jacket which has the same jacket art as the first issue, with "2nd Edition" on the inner flap. The dust jacket is in very good plus condition. Slight chipping to the edges with minor wear and soiling to the rear panel. The spine is sunned. The original price of $2.50 is present on the front flap. The book is in near fine condition with minor darkening to the white paper label on the spine. The black cloth boards are extremely well preserved and vibrant. The paper labels are intact and legible. The textblock is impeccably clean and bright with sound binding. A very collectible copy of T. S. Stribling's 1933 Pulitzer Prize winning novel "The Store". Please view the many other rare titles available for purchase at our store. Synopsis

The Store is a 1932 novel by Thomas Sigismund Stribling. It won the Pulitzer Prize for the Novel in 1933. It is the second book of the Viadan trilogy, comprising The Forge, The Store, and Unfinished Cathedral.
